Water Containers

On Monday at school, we designed a container to carry collect rain water for birds and insects to use.

  • use recycled materials
  • you need to be able to carry it
  • it needs to be strong enough to carry water
We decided not to use:
  • paper because it would break easily
  • cardboard because it would rip and tear
  • glass because if it broke we might get cut
  • straw or flax because the water leaks out
  • containers that had holes in it because water would link out
We decided that:
  • plastic or tin were good for holding water
  • we needed a wide top to collect as much water as possible
Here are some containers we looked at to give us ideas.

Here we are thinking and designing our water containers.

Here are some of our designs.

Now we are starting to make the containers.
Here are our containers.

Room 26 in the Tunnel

At Kelly Tarltons we went into the tunnel and saw sea creatures swimming all around us. We saw sharks, sting rays, sea snakes, lobsters, and lots of different kinds of colourful fish.

Wigs on Wednesday

We supported the Child Cancer Foundation by wearing a wig or hat and bringing a donation.

We counted all the money.
Room 26 donated $23.70.

Here we are looking good!
