What am I learning at School?

We wrote stories about the things we are learning at school.
Here are some to read.

Buddy Class

We made a Whatu Pokeka with our Buddy Class Room 17.

A whatu pokeka is a baby blanket.  Feathers are carefully woven into the inside to provide warmth, comfort, security and refuge from the elements.  The pokeka takes the shape of the child as they learn and grow.

Throw - Clap - Catch

We were learning to
throw - clap - catch
a bean bag.

We were learning to show the FERN value of encouragement.
We encouraged others by speaking encouraging words like
Well done
You did it
Good try
Maybe next time

Butterflies in Room 9

Four butterflies have popped out today in Room 9.
We saw two of them push themselves out of the chrysalis.
They flapped their wings and flew around the classroom.
Mrs Aldridge carefully took the butterflies outside at the end of the day to enjoy the trees and flowers.

Fly Butterflies Fly!
Bye Butterflies Bye!

There is still 5 butterflies to come out.
They may come out in the weekend and we will see them on Monday when we come back to school.

Sorting Numbers and Alphabet

We have been sorting numbers this week.
There are many ways a number can be presented
e.g.     3     three     ***

We have a box full of toys to sort.
We choose a toy and then we make the beginning
sound of it and put it on the letter.
If we are not sure where it goes - we ask a friend to help us.
