We wish you a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year.

Happy Birthday

Nathan and Rhys had their birthdays this week at school.
Happy Birthday Smarty Pants!

When I was 1 I had just begin.
When I was 2 I was nearly new.
When I was 3 I was hardly me.
When I was 4 I was not much more.
When I was 5 I was just alive.
But now I am 6, I am as clever as clever.
I think I'll be 6 for ever and ever.

Last Day at School for 2015

We went around the school singing Christmas carols to many of the classes.  We had a lovely day free choosing activities and watching Donald Duck's Christmas Video.

Christmas Trees Made From Equipment

We made Christmas trees out of equipment from around the classroom.  We used blocks, pegs, driftwood, beans, shapes dinosaurs and teddy bears.  Here are a few of the photos.

Hand Made Christmas Tree

Today we made a Christmas Tree for the wall.
It looks amazing!

Here we are reading our dog stories at Koru Assembly.

Koru Assembly

Last Thursday Room 3 and Room 7 presented the
Koru Assembly.
We did a fantastic job.
We wore our dog hats.
We sat still.
We sat quietly.
We sang beautifully.
We listened to others.
Finn, Casey, Zara and Dylan shared their dog stories.
Here we are practising.

Athletic Day

Today was athletics day at Beachlands School.

We played with the hoops and made them go
over and under us.

We balanced a ball on a bat.  That was hard!

We had a sack race.  We got sore legs!

We throw rockets in the air.

We had a tug-of-war.
The girls got 3 points and the boys got 1 point.
Yay for the girls.

We bounced on the Moon Hoppers.

We finished the day with ice blocks. YUMMY!

Good Assembly Behaviour

On Friday Room 3 was awarded the Kiwi because we were the best class in Assembly.

  • We sat quietly.
  • We looked at the speaker.
  • We listened to the speaker.
  • We kept our hands and feet to ourselves.
  • We stood still for the National Anthem.

The Hangi was Delicious!

Samuel's dad help to put the hangi down.
What a lot of digging!  Thank you!

Policeman in Room 3

Today the policeman came to school to talk to us about road safety.  He showed us how to cross the road.
He told us to STOP LOOK LISTEN before we cross a road.

We should cross the road with an adult.
We should cross the road at the pedestrian crossing.
We should walk not run across the road.
We should STOP LOOK LISTEN before we cross.
We should keep looking both ways as we cross.

Fire Men and Fire Truck

The firemen Matt and Sam from Mangere came to school today.  It was very exciting!  They brought their fire truck with them.  They talked to us about the things on the fire truck and what they wear when putting out a fire.

Can you remember all the fireman's gear?

Can you remember the things on the fire truck?
